Technical Information

Triplast Release is an engineered polymer resin possessing several unique properties. Triplast Release blanks will allow for arch maintenance while maintaining its structural support, and is produced with a special release agent applique designed to form with the material over the dental arch during appliance fabrication.

Triplast Release …

• allows for equal distribution of heat throughout the blank during fabrication so the material will not encounter hot spots or uneven temperature gaps, which could result in unequal thickness once the material is formed over the dental model.
• acts as a membrane shim prior to forming and provides comfort to the patient once an appliance is seated since the dimensional thickness of .004” (.102mm) is ultra-thin. Also helps overall undercuts, including the interproximals. 
• covers the entire blank and is formed over the dental model during fabrication, allowing the appliance to maintain its crystal clear appearance. The appliance itself never makes direct contact with the dental model during fabrication.  
• incorporates an overheating thermostat detector. When heated prior to the forming stage, the blank will turn white in color if the thermostat detects overexposure to heat.  The change in color indicates to the laboratory technician that this particular blank cannot be used as an appliance and must be discarded.  This is extremely important in appliance fabrication because a technician or orthodontist would not know if the formed appliance was produced without performance defect just by looking at it.
